SERMON SERIES:
Discipleship on the Road

Bible Passage: Luke 10:38-42

Reflection Questions (use with your small group or on your own):

  1. Who are you most like–Mary or Martha? Why?
  2. Hospitality is a good thing, a spiritual gift, that Martha practiced by opening her home to Jesus and His friends. What are some of the good things and spiritual gifts and practices in your life that can get in the way of your spending time with Jesus?
  3. How have you seen service drive a wedge between you and another? Between you and Jesus? How have you seen it affect your heart and attitude toward ministry and serving others?
  4. Martha essentially says to Jesus, “Lord, you don’t care.” Do you feel that way right now? If not, what might be your statement to Him?
  5. Identify times and spaces where you can get alone with Jesus this week and sit at His feet (i.e., Bible study, prayer, quiet/reflection, walk).

Remember the Truth:

“The best path that Mary has chosen is to sit at the Lord’s feet and listen to what he says.” (Pastor Jonathan)
