Community Connections
We can’t just keep the Good News about Jesus to ourselves.
We want to share it with the people around us! God places us in specific places and situations so we can draw others closer to Him. We join Him in His redemptive work by praying for and serving others. We give of our time, energy, talents, and resources. We intentionally build relationships with people so that they can get a glimpse of Him through us. This requires a lifestyle of outreach and service.
Here are some specific ways we reach out as a church to our community and world.
- Christmas Jubilee is a ministry we’ve run since the late 1980s. Every December, we help low-income families celebrate Christmas—providing breakfast and allowing parents to pick out presents for their children while the kids play in our Education Building.
- The Montessori School is a weekday ministry of WPC, impacting the lives of about 36 students and their families.
- Our Office & Education Building is also home to several community organization offices, including Hands of Hope, and In Source.
- We are partnering with other local churches for the Kids Hope mentoring program with OJ Neighbours Elementary School.
- Plus, we participate in several Special Offerings that are sponsored by the Presbyterian Church (USA) and regional Presbyterian Church organizations.
We encourage you to consider how God might be calling you to personally reach out to others in your world. If you have questions about what that looks like for you, we’d love to chat with you. Just give us a call at 260-563-8881.
