SERMON SERIES:
Discipleship on the Road

Bible Passage: Luke 14:13-23

Reflection Questions (use with your small group or on your own):

  1. Have you ever thought, “God could never love anyone like me.” If so, why? What caused you to think that?
  2. Jesus uses the parable of a grand banquet or feast. What experience of yours has been most like this feast–filled with good friends, good food, laughter, joy?
  3. What makes this grand feast stand out from the others? What will Jesus do at the Messianic Banquet (based on the Isaiah passage)?
  4. What excuses do you tend to make when God invites you closer to Him?
  5. How can you invite “the poor, the blind, the lame” into your life and “give a feast” for them?

Remember the Truth:

“If you worry that you might not be welcome at God’s table, if you have a past that you’re dragging along like an old piece of luggage, put it down and come to the table. You are welcome.” (Pastor Jonathan)
